Very tasty wings and a very kind staff. Best to call ahead, but worth the wait if you don't. There are many drive thru restaurants in Chattanooga. But not all are equal. Saks Wing Shak is exceptional. They offer regular and Jumbo sized wings. So unlike others, here you have a real choice of the sized wings you will receive. No guessing what size you might get. Their famous Lemon Pepper wings taste fantastic. And the Chicken Tenders are very large and tasty. They cook meals to order once you place the order. Nothing is done and sitting around for someone to possibly order it. So if you don't call in your order in advance, you will have a wait. If you drive up and order, just be ready to pull aside and relax while your meal is prepared. As they say, once you try it, you'll be back! I consider myself a wing connoisseur, I travel for work and I have eaten at every wing place within 4 hours of where I live. This is by far my favorite wing place in middle TN. I tried the sweet heat and the extra hot and both were amazing. This is the first place I've been to where you can actually choose the size of your wings. If you are a wing lover and haven't been here you are missing out.
The catfish here is outstanding, in my book! The prep takes a few minutes, but it always comes out piping hot and delicious! I will gladly wait a bit to get food that’s fresh and tastes out of this world! Keeps me coming back!
Stopped by the Shak for the first time (8/09/2024) and it was amazing! I ordered the 10 pc Sweet Heat boneless wings with fries and both were so good. Highly recommend this restaurant! I look forward to returning!
Ok, understand that it is a drive-in only fried-food wing shack. But I love that they have tilapia and catfish too. Yes, just about everything is fried. You can also get coleslaw, which they really should dole out as a larger portion. You will usually have to pull your car over and wait for someone to bring you your order. Very affordable. The owner, lady, is very nice and generous.
My first time having Saks and so far I’m sold! The wings are a little bit on the smaller side but you get many more for the same money as you would somewhere else so it evens out. And the flavor of the sauce is much stronger on a smaller wing so I’m fine with it. And speaking of the sauce... I got “hot” and they were actually hot. Not kind of hot or borderline spicy, but a nice actual heat. I ordered through DoorDash and it seems that, lately, you never get what you ordered or something is left out or the food is unsatisfactory. My order from Saks was 100% complete and very tasty so I’m a happy customer. I’ll definitely order from Saks again!
I went to Saks Wing Shak for the first time in 2017. I don't get to go as often as I would like but personally, I think this is my favorite wing place in Chattanooga! The food is always made fresh (yes, that means expect to wait for a few minutes), the staff have always been kind and friendly, the variety of the food on the menu is unique but great (everyone will find something they like), and I honestly do not believe you can't beat the prices - especially for what they have. If you have driven down Brainerd Rd and looked over at the place fourteen hundred times thinking "I'd like to try that place one day", take the time out of your day and stop and grab something!
These non 5-Stars are crazyyy. Saks is the ONLY local place we go to when it comes to office lunch orders! This is a gem in our area, and wouldn't know what to do without them.
